Dr. Karen M. Leonard
Dr. Leonard is a hometown girl from Mechanicsburg, PA and graduated from Mechanicsburg High School where she was a Track and Field Star. She then ran track for Bucknell University where she was Captain of the team and graduated Suma Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology and Animal Behavior. She received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where she holds the high distinction of being Valedictorian of her class. Dr. Leonard then completed a 3-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency at Community Medical Center, focusing on Foot and Ankle Reconstruction, where she also served as chief resident. During that time, she also completed a 3-month fellowship in Limb Lengthening and Childhood Deformities at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics.
Dr. Leonard then completed an entire year of training beyond what most Foot and Ankle Surgeons complete and did a 1-year Fellowship in Podiatric Sports Medicine in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Leonard is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is also Board Certified in Wound Care by the American Board of Wound Healing.
Dr. Leonard is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association. She is also a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine and also the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. She is also an Attending Physician for the Pinnacle Health Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program and is responsible for the surgical training of Resident Physicians.
